College Football 27 completely flips the script on how we manage our programs. The days of simply managing recruiting hours are gone. Instead, the game introduces the Dynasty Blueprint and Dynasty Points (DP) system, turning team management into a full-blown program economy. Every single off-field decision now competes for the same financial budget. If you want to build a lasting powerhouse, you need to understand how to balance the books.
The Dynasty Points (DP) System Explained
Think of Dynasty Points as your program's universal currency. Everything you do within the Blueprint hub runs on DP, and managing it requires strict planning.
  • Use It or Lose It: Your budget refreshes at the end of every season during the recap stage. Unused points vanish into thin air, so make sure you spend what you have before the clock runs out.
  • The Baseline Budget: Your starting point pool isn't random; it is dictated by your My School grades. If you have high marks in Conference Prestige, Brand Exposure, Stadium Atmosphere, and Program Tradition, you will start with a much bigger war chest.
  • The Resource Gap: The divide between the haves and the have-nots is massive. Blue-blood programs start with immense budgets—often 600 to 800+ points, scaling all the way up to 8,000 DP for 5-star powerhouses. Meanwhile, small-school rebuilds start with a tight pool of just 150 to 200 points. When you are working with that little, every single point matters.

How to Earn Bonus Dynasty Points
Thankfully, your baseline budget isn't your only source of income. You can inject extra DP into your program during the season by hitting specific milestones:
  • Athletic Director Expectations: Meet your AD's customized goals, like winning a major rivalry game or achieving a specific conference record.
  • On-Field Milestones: Win high-profile matchups, secure top-tier recruits, and make deep College Football Playoff or bowl runs to keep the extra points flowing.

The Four Pillars of the Dynasty Blueprint
Every year, you have to divide your pie chart of Dynasty Points across four primary areas. Because points are heavily limited, you cannot max out everything. The game forces you to make a choice: do you want to win immediately, or build for the long term?
1. Coaching Staff
Good help isn't cheap. You need DP to pay, hire, and fire your coordinators and support staff. If you want to bring in higher-tier coaches with advanced archetypes to boost your players, expect them to demand a massive chunk of your seasonal budget.
2. Facilities Management
Your facilities are broken down into five tiers: Basic, Competitive, Premier, Elite, and National Powerhouse. Upgrading them permanently increases your school's recruiting grades and accelerates player progression.
But there is a catch: high-tier facilities require annual maintenance costs out of your DP budget. If you neglect them, your facilities will degrade, which can cause unhappy players to decommit or transfer. On the bright side, you can also install short-term Equipment (like advanced tech or specialized floor mats) to give your team temporary buffs and reduce wear-and-tear.
3. Recruiting NIL
This area completely replaces the old scholarship and recruiting systems. Top-tier high school prospects and transfer portal targets now have specific NIL baseline financial expectations. You can choose to match, exceed, or lowball a recruit's demands. Just be careful—if you try to lowball a player or run out of funds during a long negotiation, they will walk away jaded.
4. Roster NIL (Retention)
Getting players on campus is only half the battle; you also have to keep them there. You must allocate a portion of your budget to keep your current roster happy. If your facilities start degrading or the program fails to meet a player's ongoing expectations, they will demand more NIL money or threaten to pack their bags for the transfer portal.
Strategic Blueprints for Success
How you spend your DP should depend entirely on the state of your program. Here is a quick blueprint breakdown of how to approach allocation based on your school's situation:
Program TypePrimary StrategyDP Allocation Priority
Small-School RebuildThe Long GamePrioritize low-tier facility upgrades first. This permanently boosts your school grades over time. While your budget is tight, rely on cheaper, 2-to-3 star developmental recruits who won't break the bank.
Powerhouse / Blue BloodWin NowYou have the cash, so use it. Aggressively dump massive DP chunks into high-end NIL recruiting to land elite 5-star prospects immediately and keep your championship window open.
